| Jesus has instructed
the church to "make disciples, " not just converts (Matthew 28:18-20).
Jesus also said one of the primary ways we can identifya true disciple is by their
commitment to the Word of God: "If you abide in My Word, you are truly disciples
of Mine; and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free"
(John 8:31,32) VCC places a strong emphasis on training our people in God's Word,
helping them understand the tremendous truths of Scripture and then applying it
to their lives. The Word of God is quick, alive
and powerful, piercing deep into our spirit (Hebrews 4:12). Scripture inspires,
reprooves, instructs, corrects and liberates us. Most of all the Word of God continually
reveals the Lord,imparting to us fresh revelations of His greatness, majesty and
glory. Training in the Word is available at VCC for both adults and children through
small groups and bible study classes on Wednesday night and through out the week.
