Children's Ministry Training for Teachers and Volunteers

Lynn Miller gives leadership to over 120 people involved in our children’s ministry and she knows the value of good training for workers. Lynn provides teaching for those involved with VCC’s children, equipping them to become effective and successful teachers. Training session dates and times will be announced. Training Includes:

Children’s Ministry Orientation: Enter the adventure of children’s ministry by establishing a good foundation. Get your initial questions answered and learn about our unique mission here in the children’s ministry at VCC. Our Volunteer Handbook is the main resource used in this training as we discuss policy and procedure for child health and safety. Classroom organization, teaching strategies, and curriculum topics are also introduced. Children’s ministry volunteers, both new and old, will find this an excellent workshop. All new teachers and helpers are required to attend.

Part 1: How Do I Reach and Teach Children?: Learn practical strategies and grow in your understanding of diverse learning styles. This fun, interactive workshop will empower Sunday School teachers and home-schoolers to understand and celebrate the unique strengths and gifts of each child. All our children’s ministry team is strongly urged to attend.

Part 2: How Do I Reach and Teach Children?: Revitalize your classroom with a new approach and discover how to create enthusiasm. Learn practical strategies for reaching the challenging learner and see how diversity can be a launching pad for excellence. This dynamic workshop will transform Sunday School educators and home-schoolers. All our children’s ministry team is urged to attend.

How Do I Manage My Kids?: Discover the keys to effective and successful classroom management as well as discipline of children. Gain new tools for establishing boundaries and reaching kids with God’s love. This workshop is a must for all those who work with small children. We encourage all our children’s ministry team them to attend this training.
