“Into the Wild” (www.in2thewild.org)
Location: Various throughout southern California
Description: Adventure trips for groups of men. The trips are designed around various challenges that provide time for guys to get to know each other while have an adventure experience. Come join us while we experience the beauty and wonder of God’s creation together! The costs range from $65 - $300 and include the total costs of equipment rental, transportation, food, etc. All equipment (sleeping bags, backpacks, stoves, surfboards, kayaks, etc.) is provided for anyone who does not have the equipment. No experience is necessary for any man who is physically healthy enough to participate.

We are constantly looking for men with an open heart to initiate small groups. However, "small groups" do not have to be “Bible Studies.” Men also need opportunities to find friends who have the same interests as they do. One of the things I love about Jesus' ministry are the little phrases such as “as they were going…” Discipleship does not always happen in the evenings between 6 and 8pm in a circle of chairs! It happens “as we go…TOGETHER.” I want to encourage you to find a friend and do something fun in the name of the Lord. You can enjoy it together for a while and then see if God moves your heart to invite one or two others. I’ve long been convinced that what most of the church body today would hold up as the "ideal Christian man" is devoid of fun in his life. Below are some basic tips before you begin:

1. Pick something each of you can enjoy: playing golf, backpacking, praying, doing a Bible study or pursue whatever interests you have in common

2. Set a beginning and an end date, you can always agree to continue.

3. Meet at least once every two weeks.

4. Invite someone new when you’re ready
